Yasir Iqbal embarked on his academic journey with a strong foundation in physics, laying the groundwork for his subsequent research and professional endeavors. His undergraduate studies in Physics at the University of Sargodha equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of experimental physics and nanotechnology. During this period, he delved into the intricacies of methods in experimental physics and explored the fascinating realm of nanotechnology, setting the stage for his future academic pursuits.


Building upon his undergraduate education, Yasir Iqbal ventured into the realm of research and academia, where he honed his skills and expertise in various domains of physics. His role as a Temporary Visiting Faculty (TVF)/Lab Demonstrator at the Department of Physics, School of Natural Sciences (SNS), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, provided him with valuable experience in delivering basic physics lectures and conducting lab demonstrations. Additionally, his tenure as a Research Associate involved operating sophisticated TGA/DSC instrumentation, further enhancing his technical proficiency.


Yasir's research focus encompasses the synthesis and characterization of advanced nanomaterials, particularly metals and metal oxide nanoparticles. Through his endeavors at the Department of Physics, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, he has delved into various synthesis methods such as sol-gel, hydrothermal, and polyol methods. His expertise in analytical techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and RAMAN spectroscopy has contributed significantly to the understanding of material properties and structures.


Yasir's research has made a tangible impact, particularly in the field of biomedical materials. His work on chitosan-gelatine hydrogel membranes incorporated with silver-doped ZnO nanoparticles has shown promising results in antimicrobial activity and wound healing applications. His contributions to the development of novel wound dressing materials have the potential to revolutionize the field of healthcare and contribute to the well-being of society.
