Shahzad Afzal embarked on his academic journey by earning a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture (Soil and Environmental Sciences) from The University of Agriculture Peshawar, Pakistan, in 2009. He continued his academic pursuit by obtaining a Master of Science (Hons) in Agriculture (Soil and Environmental Sciences) from the same institution in 2011. These foundational academic achievements laid the groundwork for his subsequent endeavors in environmental research and technology.


Following his academic achievements, Shahzad Afzal delved into the realm of academia and teaching. He initially served as a lecturer in Biology and Chemistry at The Suffah Model School Adina Swabi, Pakistan, from May 2004 to December 2004. Subsequently, he assumed roles as a Teaching Assistant/Lecturer at The University of Agriculture Peshawar, Pakistan, from February 2010 to February 2011, and later returned to The Suffah Model School Adina Swabi as a Biology and Chemistry Lecturer from May 2011 to August 2012. These experiences provided him with valuable teaching and mentoring skills, which he later applied in his academic career.


With a solid foundation in academia and teaching, Shahzad Afzal transitioned into the realm of research, focusing on environmental sciences and technology. His research interests encompass a wide array of topics, including Wastewater Treatment, Water Quality, Advanced Oxidation Technology, Facet Controlled Synthesis of Nanocrystals for Advanced Oxidation Technology, Metal Oxide Nanoparticle Synthesis, Decontamination Technologies for Soil, Air, and Water Pollution, and Clean Energy Production. His research contributions have significantly advanced the understanding and application of oxidation technology in addressing environmental challenges.
