Prof. Fairouz Tchier's academic journey is marked by her extensive education and scholarly achievements. She earned her Bachelor in Mathematics (Functional Analysis) from Université de Sétif, Algeria, in 1986, followed by a Master of Science in Mathematics (Functional Analysis) from Université de Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, in 1990. She then pursued a Ph.D. in Mathematics (Theoretical Computer Science) at Université Laval, Quebec City, Canada, completing her dissertation titled "Les sémantiques relationelles démoniaques et vérification de boucles non-déterministes" in 1996. This strong foundation in mathematics and theoretical computer science set the stage for her future contributions to the field.


Prof. Tchier's professional career spans over two decades at King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She started as an Assistant Professor in 1996, progressed to Associate Professor in 2008, and became a Full Professor in March 2017. Throughout her tenure, she has taught numerous courses in pure and applied mathematics, as well as theoretical computer science. Her responsibilities extended beyond teaching; she has been actively involved in accreditation and quality management, playing a key role in ensuring academic excellence at KSU.
