Dr. Venkateshwaran Krishnaswami embarked on his academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from Dr. M. G. R Medical University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, in April 2006, securing 73.3%. He continued his education at the same university, earning a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology in February 2008 with an impressive 81.3%. His academic excellence was further demonstrated when he obtained his PhD from Anna University, BIT Campus, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India, in December 2015, graduating with an A Grade. These achievements laid a solid foundation for his subsequent career in pharmaceutics and drug delivery systems.


Dr. Krishnaswami has amassed over 14 years and 7 months of experience in teaching and research. He currently serves as Vice Principal and Professor at S.A. Raja Pharmacy College, Vadakangulam. His prior roles include serving as an Incubation Scientist and Young Scientist at Anna University BIT Campus, Tiruchirappalli, and as a Professor at Nova College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Telangana. His teaching portfolio spans B Pharm, Pharm D, and M Pharm courses, focusing on various aspects of pharmaceutics. His involvement in academia extends to administrative duties, including organizing IAEC meetings, NBA accreditations, and university examination-related activities.


Dr. Krishnaswami’s research is centered on Drug Delivery systems, particularly nanomicellar pulmonary delivery for chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and nanoparticulate systems for ocular therapy. His PhD research focused on efficient drug delivery to the posterior segment of the eye for treating age-related macular degeneration. He has also worked on developing technologies such as oral films loaded with antihypertensive drugs, calcium phosphate nanoparticles for dental implants, methotrexate cubosomes for rheumatoid arthritis, and wet wipes technology. His efforts have been recognized with several awards, including the Young Scientist Award from the Department of Health Research, New Delhi, and the Best Researcher Award from VD GOOD Technology Factory, Trivandrum.


Dr. Krishnaswami has significantly impacted the field of Drug Delivery through his innovative research and development of new delivery systems.
