He then pursued a PhD in Physics at Arizona State University, USA, from 2007 to 2012. His early research focused on nanopattern formation on ferroelectric surfaces for Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) and electric force microscopy of individually charged nanoparticles on conductive substrates.


Following his PhD, Dr. Shuai Chang conducted postdoctoral research at Stanford University from 2012 to 2016, focusing on the development of electronic tunneling sensors for biomolecular identification. Since 2016, he has been a Professor at the Wuhan University of Science and Technology, leading research in Nanobiotechnology, molecular electronics, single-molecule detection, and quantum sequencing. His work involves using cutting-edge techniques like single-molecule electrical characterization and DNA sequencing through tunneling gap technology.
