Sara Mahshid commenced her academic journey with a profound passion for materials science and engineering. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2003, followed by a Master of Science degree from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2005. Her relentless pursuit of knowledge culminated in a Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2011, where she laid the groundwork for her future research endeavors.


Mahshid's professional journey has been characterized by diverse experiences in academia and research. She has held various academic appointments, including positions as a Lecturer at Monash University, Malaysia Campus, a Visiting Research Assistant at Hunan University, China, and multiple roles as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at prestigious institutions such as McGill University and the University of Toronto. These appointments have enriched her expertise and provided her with a multidisciplinary perspective essential for her research endeavors.


Mahshid's research focus encompasses a wide array of interdisciplinary domains, with a primary emphasis on nanomaterials biosensing.
