Dr. Zhong-Zhen Luo's journey in academia began with a Bachelor's degree in Materials Physics from Lanzhou University, completed in 2009. He further advanced his education with a Ph.D. in Materials Physics and Chemistry from the Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences, completed in 2014. His academic excellence was recognized early on, earning him the First Prize for Outstanding Graduates and the prestigious Lu Jiaxi Outstanding Graduate Student Award in 2014.

Dr. Luo has held several significant positions throughout his career. He started as an Assistant Researcher at the Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter immediately after his Ph.D. in late 2014. His postdoctoral work included stints at Rolls-Royce @ Nanyang Technological University Joint Laboratory and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University from 2015 to 2020. During this period, he also gained international experience as a Visiting Scholar at Northwestern University's Department of Chemistry from 2016 to 2020. Since November 2020, he has been a Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Fuzhou University, where he serves as the Executive Director of the Institute of Thermoelectric Functional Materials.
