Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanikaikarasan Sethuramachandran began his academic journey at RDGA College, Madurai Kamaraj University, where he earned his B.Sc in Physics. He continued his education at Alagappa University, Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, completing his M.Sc and Ph.D in Physics (Thin Films). His doctoral dissertation, supervised by Prof. T. Mahalingam and Prof. C. Sanjeeviraja, focused on "Electrochemical Synthesis and Studies on Cd1-xFexSe Thin Films," demonstrating his early interest and expertise in Materials Science, particularly in thin films and electrochemical processes.

PROFESSIONAL ENDEAVORS

Dr. Sethuramachandran's academic career spans several institutions in Tamil Nadu, India. He began as an Assistant Professor at PSN College of Engineering & Technology, Tirunelveli, from June 2010 to April 2016. Following this, he served as an Assistant Professor & HoD at Shanmuganathan Engineering College, Pudukottai, and subsequently as Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) at Saveetha School of Engineering, Saveetha University. Currently, he holds the position of Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Physical Sciences at Saveetha School of Engineering.

Dr. Sethuramachandran's research interests lie in Materials Science, focusing on electrodeposition, thin films, solar cells, II-VI and II-III-V semiconductors, chalcogenides, magnetic materials, TCO materials, nanomaterials, and photocatalysis. He has guided several students in their research pursuits, with numerous M.Phil and M.Sc students under his mentorship. His research has led to significant projects, including the electrochemical deposition and characterization of various thin films for photoelectrochemical solar cells.
