Her passion for engineering led her to pursue her G.C.E. (A/L) with an impressive aggregate of 305, laying a strong foundation for her future academic endeavors. She continued her pursuit of knowledge at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with Second Class Honours with Upper Division, specializing in Production Engineering. Her academic excellence was further recognized with an EDCS scholarship for achieving an aggregate of more than 75% for her G.C.E.(A/L).

His academic qualifications also include an M.Tech. in Polymer Chemistry and Engineering/Technology, a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering, and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemical Sciences. Additionally, he holds a diploma in Japanese Language, reflecting a diverse skill set.

His professional journey started at the National Test House, Government of India, Kolkata, where he focused on Quality Control and Research from 1982 to 1985. Subsequently, he joined the Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), where he served in various capacities over the years. His roles included Scientist/Deputy Director at Defence Materials and Stores Research & Development Establishment (DMSRDE), Kanpur, and later, Scientist/Joint Director in Delhi, contributing to research, development, and R&D management.
