Manoj Kumar Sharma began his academic journey with a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, India. With a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, he pursued a Master of Technology from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, India, specializing in Thermal Science. His academic pursuits culminated in a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, where he specialized in Fluid and Thermal Sciences.

He served as a Research Associate at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, where he actively worked on projects related to solar thermal water distillation systems and real-time water and air quality monitoring. His expertise led him to William Marsh Rice University, Houston, USA, where he assumed the role of a Postdoctoral Associate, delving into the design and analysis of solar membrane desalination systems.


Throughout his career, Dr. Sharma has focused on various aspects of solar concentration technologies, encompassing Concentrated Solar Photovoltaics and Concentrated Solar Thermal Systems. His research interests also extend to optimization strategies for PV-Thermal Systems and the optics of solar concentrators.
