Mr. Kia Khademi is a distinguished professional in the field of civil and structural engineering, with significant contributions to building information modeling (BIM) and construction management. He is currently engaged in enhancing construction practices through innovative methodologies and emerging technologies.


Mr. Khademi has actively participated in peer review activities for the Engineering with Computers Journal, published by Springer Nature in New York, US. His expertise and insights contribute to the advancement of research in engineering and computing.


Kia Khademi's research interests are at the nexus of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Construction Management (CM). He focuses on utilizing BIM to revolutionize construction practices, incorporating lean construction principles, dynamic scheduling, cost estimation, and sustainable methodologies. His interests also include applying BIM in post-construction phases for better facility management and integrating AI and IoT to facilitate data-driven decision-making, aiming to streamline construction processes and enhance collaboration among stakeholders.


Kia Khademi holds a Master’s degree in Construction Management (Building Engineering) from Concordia University, Montreal, completed in August 2021. He also earned an M.Sc. degree in Structural Engineering from K.N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, in July 2018, and a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tabriz, Iran, in July 2014.


Mr. Khademi has extensive teaching experience, including online teaching at Faradars Institute since 2017. He has taught road and pavement courses, and English courses for students preparing for the National Entrance Exam for a master’s degree in civil engineering in Iranian universities from 2015 to 2017. Additionally, he taught AutoCAD 2D to Bachelor students from 2010 to 2015.


Currently, Mr. Khademi serves as a Building Science Consultant at Enspeco Co. in Montreal, Canada, since March 2022. His responsibilities include assisting in project management for renovation or repair projects, automating documents for company software, inspecting project sites to ensure progress and conformance to design specifications, cost estimation for Reserve Fund Studies, and quantity take-off for reports and RFS.


Kia Khademi is proficient in using advanced software such as Solidworks and Simion for designing scientific apparatus. He has extensive experience in the construction of high vacuum chambers, molecular beam technology, VUV light techniques, and time-of-flight mass spectrometry. His technical skills are pivotal in maintaining experimental equipment systems and optimizing their efficiency.


Mr. Khademi excels in communication and collaboration, effectively building rapport with scientists, engineers, and technical staff. His ability to work independently and within team environments has significantly contributed to the success of various projects. His dedication to fostering greater collaboration among project stakeholders is evident in his professional and academic endeavors.
