Prof. Julian Plewa's academic journey began with a Master of Science in Metallurgy from the AGH University of Sciences and Technology, Cracow, Poland, in 1973. He furthered his education by earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Technical Sciences in 1979 from the same institution. His passion for Materials Sciences led him to achieve a habilitated doctor degree in Materials Sciences in 2005 from Silesia University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland, and eventually a full professorship in Materials Sciences in 2019 from the University of Silesia, Katowice, Poland. Since October 2019, he has been a Professor at the University of Silesia, Katowice, where he teaches Functionally Materials and Materials of Science. Since October 2019, he has been a Researcher and Professor at the University of Silesia, Katowice, concentrating on Optical Materials, Phosphors, Glass, and Mechanical Metamaterials.
