Dr. R. Delhi Babu is a distinguished academic and researcher with extensive experience in the field of Mathematics, specializing in Fluid Dynamics. His professional journey is marked by significant achievements in teaching, research, and academic collaboration.


Dr. R. Delhi Babu has an impressive academic and professional profile, having qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Assistant Professor in 2022 and the State Eligibility Test (SET) in 2017. He completed his Ph.D. in Fluid Dynamics in July 2020 and has accumulated 19 years of teaching experience. He has published 30 research articles in Web of Science (SCI / SCIE / ESCI) and Scopus indexed journals, showcasing his contributions to the field.


Dr. Babu earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, in 2020. He completed his B.Sc. in Mathematics in 2002 and his M.Sc. in Mathematics in 2004, both from Madras University. In 2009, he obtained his M.Phil. in Mathematics from Alagappa University, Karaikudi. His Ph.D. thesis was titled “Analysis of Magnetohydrodynamic Flow Between Parallel Porous Plates with an Angular Velocity.”


Dr. Babu has an extensive portfolio of certifications and online courses, having completed 8 NPTEL courses, including 3 Faculty Development Program (FDP) courses, and 63 Coursera courses. He has also participated in 57 FDP courses and attended 3 FDP courses at IIT Madras from 2018 to 2020. Additionally, he has authored several books on Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow and related topics.


Dr. Babu has applied for a project aimed at developing a mobile app for basic mathematics to reduce mathematics phobia. He has collaborated on research projects with prominent international academics, including Dr. Mitchell Sheremet from Tomsk State University, Russia, and Dr. D. S. Sankar from Universiti Teknologi Brunei, focusing on MHD flow and computational fluid dynamics.


Dr. Babu is currently an Assistant Professor at Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, where he has been serving since September 2011. His responsibilities include lecturing on engineering mathematics subjects for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, preparing course materials, and guiding research projects. Prior to this, he worked as a Lecturer at Asan Memorial College of Engineering and Technology, Chennai, from June 2005 to August 2011.


Throughout his career, Dr. Babu has taught a wide range of subjects, including Engineering Mathematics I and II, Transforms and Partial Differential Equations, Probability and Queueing Theory, Probability and Random Processes, Numerical Methods and Statistics, Operations Research, Statistics for Management, Applied Mathematics, and Advanced Mathematics. His expertise in these areas has greatly benefited his students.


Dr. Babu has made significant contributions to academic literature, with numerous publications in reputed journals. He has also published several books on topics such as MHD flow between parallel porous plates and mathematical modeling, reflecting his deep understanding and research in the field of fluid dynamics.
